Sources of Strength is designed for middle school and high school students and focuses on promoting mental health, connecting students to trusted adults, and building a strong community of support. The program is interactive, engaging, and helps students develop life skills to thrive.

What is it? Sources of Strength is an evidence-based wellness program that empowers students to use their personal strengths to handle life’s challenges. The program is peer-led, with adult mentors guiding students in promoting positive change within their school.

It’s impactful! Students collaborate in fun, hands-on activities to build connections, develop coping strategies, and spread hope throughout the school, creating a stronger, more resilient community for everyone.

Teens Leading Change is designed for high school students passionate about making a difference. The program provides the tools, support, and platform for students to address issues that matter to them and create real change.

What is it? Teens Leading Change is a youth-led advocacy program where students design and implement projects to tackle challenges in their school and community. Supported by mentors, the program fosters leadership and teamwork while addressing issues like equity, environmental sustainability, and social justice.

It’s inspiring! Students collaborate on meaningful projects, gain valuable leadership experience, and become agents of change, making a lasting impact on their community.

Vashon Teen Council is for middle and high school students, providing them with the knowledge and confidence to support their peers on topics like healthy relationships and sexual health. The program is a pilot project of The DOVE Project and focuses on promoting youth violence prevention and healthy sexuality.

What is it? Vashon Teen Council is a peer education program that trains teens to be accurate and approachable resources for their peers. It is based on a nationally recognized model developed by Planned Parenthood and adapted by The DOVE Project to meet the needs of our local community.

It’s transformative! Teen Council members develop strong presentation skills, make a positive impact in their schools and community, and gain real-world experience, all while becoming leaders and advocates for healthy relationships and sexual health.

RECESS LAB

  • Creates a fun space for middle schoolers to connect, unwind, and make new friends.

  • Encourages creativity and self-expression through a variety of activities and games.

  • Fosters a sense of community where everyone feels welcome and included.

6:30-8:30pm Fridays at the Recess Lab is designed for middle school students looking for a fun and safe place to hang out. The program offers a variety of engaging activities, from a bouldering wall, slackline, foosball, or ping-pong, to arts and crafts, or just hanging out with friends on a Friday evening.

What is it? Friday Nights at the Recess Lab is a weekly gathering where students can come together to socialize and participate in different activities. Staff and volunteers create a supportive environment where you can try new things, share your ideas, and have a great time with friends.

It’s a blast! Join us for an evening filled with laughter, activity, creativity, and connection, making Friday nights something to look forward to every week!

SAFE GRAD NIGHT

Safe Grad Night can help:

  • Ensure seniors celebrate graduation in a fun, safe, and sober environment.

  • Provide a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime celebration for graduates and their classmates.

  • Support community efforts to create a fun event on one of the most high-risk nights of the year.

Safe Grad Night is all about celebrating your graduation with an epic, unforgettable party!
