    Keeping the pressure on…

We had a small victory last Thursday as the King County Board of Health adopted A RESOLUTION calling on the Washington state Legislature (and Liquor Control Board) to act to restrict youth access to edible marijuana products.

Thanks to Neighborhood House, SE Seattle PEACE Coalition, APICAT, Healthy King County Coalition, Center for Multi-Cultural Health, WA Poison Center, and local prevention coalitions and individual concerned parents for bringing this issue to the Board of Health’s attention. It wouldn’t have happened without your support!

You can view the testimony (minutes 8:38-20.15) and the Board of Health Member’s discussion (minutes 1:02:40-1:10:00) at the following link:

Next step is to continue to put pressure on the Board of Health to take temporary emergency action to ban marijuana edible products that appeal to youth until such time that state regulations are In place to protect children’s health.  Their next meeting is: Feb. 19th 1:30pm
